Excerpt from Points of Contact Between Science and Art: A Lecture Delivered at the Royal Institution, January 30, 1863
In preparing the short-hand notes of the following Lecture for the press, the Author has introduced one or two topics which want of time obliged him to omit, and to expand others which the same reason led him to compress beyond his wishes.
He cannot neglect this opportunity of expressing his thanks to his numerous audience, for the kindness of their reception of him, and the indulgence of their protracted attention to his words.
