This book is organized to cover sequentially each of the examination contents (basic theory and clinical science areas) specified by the NCCAOM required. There are ten chapters in this book, each chapter includes two parts: Instructional & Explanations and Practice Test, and and integrated Model Examination section at the end of the review. The sections are as follows:
1. Basic theory: including Yin-Yang, Five Elements, Zang-fu organs, Qi, blood and body fluid, etiology, etc.
2. Diagnostic Skills: including four methods of diagnosis (inspection, auscultation & olfaction, Inquiry and Palpitation) and differentiation (eight-principle, six-meridian, four-level, extra meridian, Qi, blood and body fluid, Zang-fu, and San Jiao)
3.Meridian theory: including twelve regular meridians and their attachments, extra meridians and collatorals
4. Acupoint theory: including point location, indication, method, specific point, application, etc.
5. Needle Technique: including acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, three-edged needle, cutaneous needle, intradermal needle, auricular acupuncture and scalp acupuncture
6. Acupuncture treatment: there are seven categories, 63 kinds of different diseases treatment, including main symptioms of disease, key words of clinical manifestations, and basic/supplement points of treatment
7. CNT: including communication of disease, theory and practice of clean needle technique, acupuncture treatment and management of possible needling accidents.
8. Legal issue for acupuncture: medical record, medical record confidentiality & release, medical record retention & destruction, privacy & modesty, sexual boundaries and about NCCAOM and its certification
9. Point loation: separate all the important meridian points and some of the extra points to the certain anatomical diagrams
