Jack Starret and his younger brother Dan, left Texas with a Kansas bound cattle drive. Dan returned to Texas but Jack stayed in Kansas where his skills with a deck of cards and a fast gun earned him a reputation. Searching for something more in his life Jack put the gunfighter behind him and returned to Texas. Turning over a new page, he buried his past and signed on with McNelly"s Texas Rangers. While riding for the law, Jack learned that Dan had taken the Marshal"s job in a tough town and had been murdered. Riding north he shed the "lawman" and took back the "gunfighter" bound to right his brother"s murder. Stopping to see Dan"s widow and son, Jack is aware of the fact that there are some things more important than a Colt .45. But, there is still a brother"s code to be honored. Jack promises to return and help them, but not until Dan"s killer is six feet under. Это и многое другое вы найдете в книге Beyond Raton (Dave P. Fisher)
