Dreaming Cities is piano trio (violin, cello, piano) inspired by Italo Calvino"s, Invisible Cities. Its five, dynamic movements evoke the novel"s floating, mirror, mechanical, and whimsical architecture. The sweep, pyrotechnics, fantasy, and lyricism of the trio"s ideas glide, leap, and dance through the musical palindromes, catwalks, and microcosms of the score.
