Letters from Havana is a true story from Cuba of life, love and loss at the time of Fidel Castro’s Revolution. Forty-one letters written in Havana in 1960 to Alfredo, a young Cuban exile living in Boston, tell the story. There are nine beautifully written love letters from Eliana, Alfredo’s sixteen-year-old girl friend. Also included are letters from his friends and family about their lives in the early days after the Revolution. Besides details of daily life and personal reflections, some of the topics highlighted are the Bay of Pigs Invasion, the counter-revolution, the Agrarian and Urban Reforms. The letters have been faithfully translated, not fictionalized or embellished. The book contains many never-published photos from Cuba, and images of the actual letters and envelopes. The book also offers historical background information and insight into this important period of Cuba’s history. Это и многое другое вы найдете в книге Letters from Havana (Katherine Suarez)
