Golden Retriever Lee Smith

On a battlefield in Vietnam, a Valkyrie reaches to take a dying soldier to Valhalla, and he refuses. They make a deal that allows him to stay on earth until a woman tells him she loves him or he dies naturally of medical complications. A meddling demi-goddess takes an interest in the dying soldier and gives him an enchanted dog for company, then sets out to find him a cure. The dog digs up buried mob loot initiating a mad cross-country chase.
