After Paul Freeman, a science teacher, is downsized, with nothing but time on his hands, he becomes addicted to a new on-line game called "Cybersona." It allows players to create their own cyber personality, or "Cybersona." They can use their own personalities or other traits to create superior intelligence, a high tolerance to pain, or paranormal capabilities such as telepathy and telekinesis. The motto in Cybersona is, "If you can think it, we can create it."
In a Cybersona chat room, Paul meets Garland Daniels. What Paul doesn"t know is that Garland is an enraged quadriplegic computer software developer who was accidentally shot when he walked in the midst of a gang war. Trapped in his hospital bed, his only outlet is a voice-activated computer and "Cybersona."
Using his skills as a computer genius, Garland has created a special capability called "pushing" which allows him to "push" his Cyber persona into Paul"s mind and take over Paul"s body. Garland intends to use it to get revenge on those responsible for his paralysis.
Paul finds himself trapped in cyberspace; the only way to stop Garland and get back into the real world is to take over the body of the next player, only the next player to sign on turns out to be a ten-year-old boy. Это и многое другое вы найдете в книге Cybersona (Fred Yager)
