Drawing is, quite symply, the "kitchen" of the artist - a place where he engages in reflections, quests and discoveries, before serving them up as art. This does not imply, however, that the masters of the first half of the nineteenth century - or other periods - did not create their own independent, representative works in graphic techniques. As a form of creativity, drawing is extremely multi-faceted, reflecting various facets of the artistic personalities of the authors. Artistic thinking, nuances of professional mastery and the general tonus of the creative personality are distinctly and directly manifested in drawing. The birth and development of concepts and the wealth of unimplemented aesthetic and creative projects are often to be found in the graphic heritage of artists.
