Herbert George Wells (1866 - 1946) was an English writer. He was prolific in many genres, writing dozens of novels, short stories, and works of social commentary, but he is now best remembered for his science fiction novels. This volume contains some of his most wonderful short stories, including a short ghost story 'The Red Room" and "The Country of the Blind" - a story of a country which is cut off from the rest of the world. The isolated community prospered over the years, despite a disease that struck them early on, rendering all newborns blind.
