Ascariasis Imtiaz Wani and Abid Amin

Ascariasis is endemic in Kashmir valley and is a very common feature in children in Kashmir. Such children are brought to OPD or surgical emergency service, the latter group referred from peripheral hospitals and health centers .This group is very important for surgeon, to diagnose them at earlier stage and to determine the modality of treatment..Our study has confirmed the general observation that intestinal ascariasis is common in pediatric age group in this valley.
