Modelling Success: The Portuguese Handball Player Luis Miguel Massuca and Isabel Fragoso

We study the discriminating power of morphologic (Chapter 1), physiological / fitness (Chapter 2), psychological (Chapter 3) and biosocial (Chapter 4) variables in (i) team-handball (HB) athletes of different levels, and (when appropriate) (ii) in HB athletes of different playing positions. The last study (Chapter 5) presents the methodology used to predict the success of HB players. We expect these models can be used to select potential HB practitioners with high level of performance in an economically advantageous way.
