Adolescence is a time of transition from childhood to adulthood, During this period young people experience changes following puberty, but do not immediately assume the roles, privileges and responsibilities of adulthood. Experiences of adolescence vary by age, sex, marital status, class, region and cultural context. Moreover, social, economic and political forces are rapidly changing the ways that young people must prepare for adult life.
