All the three plants tested showed antimalarial effect, P. kurrooa being the most effective among the three. All the mice treated with alcohol soluble extract of P. kurrooa exhibited low parasitaemia. C. pareira also showed low parasitaemia on day 5 post inoculation but it was less effective than P. kurrooa. The group of mice fed with root extract of C. pareira showed percent infection ranging between 6.28% to 16.06 % with mean percent infection 11.64 ± 4.20. Third plant used for the study was Tinospora cordifolia and its extract showed less antimalarial effect. The present book provides detailed information on three plants used in this study which have antimalarial effect. As all these plants have important constituents which gave them medicinal properties.
