Amidst rapid urbanisation and associated sanitation challenges majority of the global South cities are embracing non-state actors led direct service provision. However, sanitation challenge continues to linger coupled with mixed outcomes from the said shift in the service provision role. This publication draws from fieldwork that employed purely qualitative approach in exploring involvement of the private companies and Community-Based Organisations in household solid waste management.
