A field experiment was conducted during summer 2004 in the main research station, Hebbal, Bangalore using PAC793 baby corn hybrid to know the effect of planting methods and drip irrigation levels on growth, yield and quality of baby corn. The treatment comprised three methods of planting viz. Normal row planting (45 x 20 cm), Paired row planting (30-60-30 x 20 cm) and Four row pairing (30-30-30-105x 20cm) with two drip irrigation levels viz. 0.8 and 1.0 Epan and normal row planting with weekly surface irrigation at 0.8 Epan as control. All these treatments were replicated four times in RCBD. In each hills two seedlings were maintained. 150:75:40 kg NPK per ha of nutrients was applied. Results indicated that paired row planting with drip irrigation at 0.8 Epan recorded significantly higher plant height (180.30 cm), no. of leaves (24.90 hill-1), leaf area (7344.20 cm2), leaf area index (8.16) at harvest and leaf area duration at 40 DAS – harvest (143.10 days).
