Urethral stricture is one of the most important causes of bladder outflow obstruction and responsible for significant morbidity. Urethral stricture is more common in men but rare in women. Acquired urethral strictures are mostly due to infection and trauma. Patients who have urethral strictures most often present with obstructing voiding symptoms or urinary tract infections such as prostatitis and epididymitis. Some patients also present with urinary retention.Urethral stricture is a potentially debilitating disease if treated inadequately.
