As the research Scientist in charge of animal production and health unit of Biotechnology and Nuclear Agriculture Research Institute, my area of interest is sustainable improvement of the productivity of indigenous small ruminants and monogastrics, using nuclear techniques. Current studies include the exploration of strategic nutrition including the use of probiotic, as a complementary tool to achieve these objectives. The ultimate goal however is to ensure food security in the country and improve the livelihood of the marginal people. Thryonomyns swinderanus as an emerging micro-livestock hold a huge potential towards the achievement of these goals. On-going research also include productivity improvement program for indigenous Djallonke breed of sheep. It is my honest opinion that the challenges to guaranteeing food security and alleviating poverty require sustained increases in production and productivity of indigenous livestock in Ghana Это и многое другое вы найдете в книге GIT Microflora 0f Thryonomys Swinderianus (Mohammed Yaro)
