A question that has gained widespread interest is ‘how can learning tasks be structured to encourage creative thinking in the classroom?’ The study reported within this book adopts the stance of drawing upon theories of learning and creativity to encourage creative thinking in the classroom. This book presents a generative framework for creative learning which exists as a design support tool in planning lesson materials for the classroom and the design of educational software. The research reported within this book demonstrates how the framework can be applied through use of a music composition program called SoundScape.
