Hunger is one of the world’s major problems. The 2007 Global Hunger Index illustrates that the problem has assumed an alarming scale in 36 countries: 25 of these countries are in Sub-Sahara Africa, nine in Asia, one in the Middle East and Latin America, respectively. The Government of Ghana in the 2006/2007 academic year introduced the school feeding programme most of them in rural parts of the country. Two schools in the Lawra District located in one of the poorest regions in the country (Upper West Region) benefited from the feeding programme. The inception of the programme which is the provision of one hot lunch for every school child in beneficiary schools witnessed an overwhelming number of enrollments into those schools many of whom were big/grown up pupils who were originally not interested in attending school but are now in school. The book listened to the stories of these children which may help inform policy makers (Ministry of Education) in taking decisions for them. It may...
