GHG emissions are part of the environmental risks that affect the Earth today. The emission of these gases produces adverse effects on living organisms and the environment. Among the most notable effects is the alteration of the hydrological cycle, as having a higher temperature in the Earth's surface increases the evaporation of water, causing as latitude, increased rainfall or drought periods. The first step to reduce GHG emissions is to quantify it. To measure the amount emitted, organizations use the carbon registry protocols, such as the GHG Protocol. I performed the study and quantification of GHG emissions in a Colombian chemical industry leader in salt and chlorine production.
