Analytical methods in bioinformatics touches on the computational analysis of biological data in the field of high-throughput biology. These methods have seen many applications in the area of drug design and cancer research, among others. This work focuses on the exploration of several of the most frequently utilized methods included in analytical bioinformatics, while providing an overview of biological databases that aim to serve scientists in the fields of proteomics and genomic research. Additionally, the design of a simple wxPython program that may be used in the comparison of a pair of sequences is demonstrated.
