The MacDougal Chronicles Virginia R. Bensen

Virginia Bensen is a Civil War and American history scholar. She has been published in the Winchester-Frederick County Historical Society Journal for her research about Civil War nurses in Winchester, Virginia. She writes for The Emerging Civil War blog. Dr. Bensen has researched nineteenth-century women and the evolution of the twentieth-century housewife. She provides workshops and presentations about women and Civil War nurses and has taught American history at Pasco-Hernando State College. Currently, she is researching local history in Hernando County, Florida. Because Dr. Bensen personally enjoys reading, studying, and sharing American history, she has written The MacDougal Chronicles.
