Excerpt from Oberlin: Its Origin, Progress and Results; An Address, Prepared for the Alumni of Oberlin College, Assembled August 22, 1860
To meet a general demand, this address is second time by the authorities of the college. Owing to the absence of the author in Europe, it is republished in nearly the same form in which it was originally delivered, eleven years ago. Changes in statistics and other statements are made in foot notes as they are required, and a general statement of the progress of the school for the last ten years and of its present resources and wants in added in an appendix.
