Excerpt from On the Relation of the Nervous System to Disease and Disorder in the Viscera: Being the Morison Lectures Delivered Before the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh in 1897 and 1898
In the present issue of the following lectures, which have already appeared in extenso in the Edinburgh Medical Journal, and as full abstracts in the Lancet, some verbal corrections have been made, and a little additional matter interpolated to make my meaning clearer. Some illustrations which were unsatisfactory have been omitted, and others added. In connection with these, I desire to express my great obligations to my friend Mr. Frank Crosbie of London, who spared neither time nor his well-known skill as a photographer, in producing the photo-micrographs. I have also to thank my friend Dr. Forbes Boss of London, for the assistance he rendered both Mr. Crosbie and myself. My obligations to others are expressed in the text.
