The immediate occasion of editing the following discourse, is the high commendation very justly bestowed on it by Dr. Copleston, in the notes to his "Enquiry concerning Predestination."
The design however had long been entertained of re-introducing to public notice in some form or other a work of such high value, which once enjoyed such well-merited celebrity, but which has for many years been undeservedly forgotten.
