The nineteenth annual meeting of the Medical Society of the State of North Carolina convened in Fireman"s Hall at 12 o"clock.
The President and Vice-President being absent, Dr. Peter E. Hines, was, on motion of Dr. E. Burke Haywood, called to preside.
The Secretary announced that the Society was ready to proceed to business.
Dr. E. Burke Haywood, of Raleigh, stated that he was requested by Dr. W. G. Hill, the President of the Society, to express his regret that his official duties at the Penitentiary and the large number of convicts on the sick list, would prevent his attending the present meeting of the Society.
