Excerpt from Property and Society
For some time it has been apparent that the legal and social concepts of property did not square. A new statement is needed that will recognize what has been accomplished by organized society and at the same time point the way to the newer social concept. Judge Bruce has tried to meet this problem of statement in his book. He brings to its writing good training as student, teacher, and jurist. Whether the reader agrees with his viewpoint is not important, but the editor feels that a good book has been added to the series, and that the reader will stop to think over this very important social problem.
