Excerpt from Researches on the Effects of Bloodletting in Some Inflammatory Diseases, and on the Influence of Tartarized Antimony and Vesication in Pneumonitis
It is the latest of Mr. Louis"s publications, or the latest which has reached us. It differs from his other works; for they related principally to the pathology, to the diagnosis and the interpretation of symptoms, in the diseases of which they treated. This relates to therapeutics, and principally to one of the most interesting questions in this branch of medical science. If any thing may be regarded as settled in the treatment of diseases, it is that bloodletting is useful in the class of diseases called inflammatory; and especially in inflammations of the thoracic viscera.
