Aquaculture is also an important instrument for promotion of economic growth in developing countries and rural areas because it creates jobs, business and income.Aquaculture development within the Palk strait environment is currently hindered by a lack of information and knowledge relating to the impacts of large scale culture on open-coast locations, and also by general paucity of data relating to the Palk Strait region. This work endeavour to address these issues by overcoming the present uncertainities.
