The Association met at Armory Hall at 10 A. M., and was called to order by the President, Dr. Willis F. Westmoreland of Atlanta.
Prayer was offered by the Rev. Dr. Dripps, after which the President introduced Mayor Herman Meyers, who delivered the following
Address of Welcome.
Gentlemen of the Medical Association of Georgia:
The pleasure and honor devolve upon me as chief magistrate of this city to bid you in its behalf a hearty welcome. I desire at the same time to assure you I am voicing the sentiment of our entire community.
While it is true that we, as well as other cities, invite citizens from all parts of this great country to visit us, and offer them every practicable inducement to locate permanently amongst us, in receiving you our inclinations prompt us to go a step further, recognizing that you represent a profession which not only commands our highest respect and esteem, but fully realizing the innumerable sacrifices you are constantly called upon and cheerfully make; your unflinching courage in meeting our common enemy, namely.
