Excerpt from Community Projects and School Credits for Home Projects
In order to bring the North Carolina College for Women into more vital relationship with all the people of the State and to further serve its purpose as a part of the public school system, the authorities of the institution desire to send this bulletin, School Credits for Home Projects, to all teachers who realize the need for closer cooperation between the home and the school and who desire to arouse larger community interests.
The bulletin offers suggestions to the teachers in helping to solve the problems of the average home in an efficient and economical way.
To The Mothers In The Rural Homes In North Carolina
The bulletin has a two-fold purpose:
1. To give the children of the rural schools who may not reach college an insight into the problems of the home and to show them how to meet these problems efficiently. To point the way to greater appreciation of the rural homes, creating in the young people a greater desire to become the highest type of efficient home makers of tomorrow. The "Class Experiments" in school are intended to teach the students the simple underlying principles. These principles are to be followed up at home in the simple demonstration under each lesson.
2. The "Demonstrations" are sent to the housekeepers of today with the hope that the suggestions given under the various divisions may lighten the burdens of each day.
If you have not already done so, NOW is the time to fall in love with your work.
