Tourneys made rapidly result in rapid impressions; they may not be profound, but they at least are vivid. A long sojourn in a foreign land sometimes dulls the sharpness of one's visual pictures. These pen-sketches, taken on the wing, may not be very valuable, but they are not wholly valueless; they are not unlike the snapshot photos which accompany them. For the snapshots are not art, and the pen-sketches are not literature, but both may interest.
