Excerpt from The Ethical Teaching of Froebel: As Gathered From His Works; Two Essays
In the year 1887 the Froebel Society offered a prize for the best essay upon the subject of "Froebel's Ethical Teaching, as gathered from his works." The usual method of mottoes was adopted. The judges (the Rev. R. H. Quick, Professor Meiklejohn, and Miss Snell) divided the prize between two essays, which were printed in the Journal of Education during 1888, and by the kind permission of its editor are now republished in this separate form.
