Excerpt from Citizens Made and Remade: An Interpretation of the Significance
In the preparation of this book Mr. George has for the most part provided the data and the ideas while I have furnished the method and style of their presentation. As every one knows, Mr. George was the originator of the Junior Republic idea and the founder of the original Republic at Freeville, New York. He is now doing a nation-wide work as National Director of the National Association of Junior Republics, which is undertaking to correlate the work of the existing and widely separated Republics and which aims to establish at least one such community in every State in the Union. A similar community has been established in England which will be more or less closely affiliated with the American work.
