Science is exact correlated knowledge.
Biology is that science which treats of organized matter in general, whether animal or vegetable. It includes Morphology and Physiology.
Morphology is the comparison of the structure of organisms with a view of ascertaining their relations.
Physiology deals with the functions of living things. It may be divided into animal, including human and comparative, and vegetable physiology.
Biology is concerned with living matter.
Characteristics of living organisms.
Digestion and assimilation leading to growth, development, reproduction and death.
The physical basis of life is protoplasm.
Protoplasm is composed of C, H, 0, N, with traces of P and S; small quantities of inorganic salts, especially phosphates; water in large proportion ; and small quantities of proteids, carbohydrates and fats.
All organized beings have within themselves the energy to construct protoplasm.
Living matter can proceed only from living matter. The opposite view is upheld by the doctrine of spontaneous generation.
