Dorothy Johnson found Piper sleeping in a alley and took her in. She instantly fell in love with her and adopted her. She watched her grow and become a compassionate woman. Piper went off to school in California to become a social worker. It was there that she opened her first home for girls. When Dorothy passed away, Piper moved back to Rivers End, Maine to the home she spent her teenage years in. Upon Dorothy’s wishes, she opened another home for girls right there in that house.
