Together with a large number of brethren hailing from St. John's Lodge, No. 17; Strict Observance Lodge, No. 27; St. George's Lodge, No. 88; Manito Lodge, No. 90; St. Lawrence Lodge, No. 131; Stevenson Lodge, No. 218; Ashlar Lodge, No. 247; Durham Lodge, No. 306; North Star Lodge, No. 822; Prince Arthur Lodge, No. 333; Occident Lodge, No. 346; Maple Leaf Lodge, No. 362; and others.
The Grand Lodge was opened in Ample form at 2.40 p. m.
The M. W. the Grand Master stated that he had convened this Special Communication of the Grand Lodge for the purpose of laying the Corner Stone of the County High School about to be erected in Owen Sound.
A procession was then formed in the proper order, and marched to the site of the new building, by way of Poulett, Division and Boyd Streets.
The M. W the Grand Master and members of Grand Lodge were received by the Rev. Canon Mulholland, Chairman of the Board of Education, and the school children sang the following Ode of Welcome: -
Bid ye welcome heartily,
Brothers of the Mystic Tie,
While the trowel ye apply
To the stone ye lay.
