Excerpt from Story Hour Courses for Children From Greek Myths, the Iliad and the Odyssey
Six years ago - the year after the children's story hour was established in this Library - stories from Homer were told with great success. This year the same stories will be told to the older children, while a program of Greek myths has been prepared for the younger children, both programs, together with references to sources, being printed herewith. A large number of copies of the best books containing stories from Greek literature have been purchased and will be placed on the "story hour" shelves at the branch libraries. As heretofore, the story hour for the older children will be held on Friday afternoons, beginning with the first week in November. The story hour for the little children will be held on Tuesday afternoons at the Wylie Avenue and East Liberty branches, on Thursday afternoons at the Lawrenceville branch, and on Friday afternoons at the West End, Mount Washington and Hazelwood branches.
