Dutch Landscapes

Landscape represents the subject of prime importance of Dutch painting. In every period Dutch masters were happy to present to the viewer the peculiar beauty of their country edged by a number of bays, by a dense network of canals, and profusely-sprinkled by rains. The heyday of this genre spanned the period from the mid-16th century to the end of the 17th. The present volume offers a wide selection of the rich material treasured in the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts of this magnificent period - the true golden age of Dutch painting. It is introduced by Agnes Czobor, Keeper of the Museum, an outstanding expert of Dutch painting.
