My father was a rural mail carrier who started around 1917, in the horse-and-buggy days, and he drove the route for thirty-five years. I was born in 1922, and my first eighteen years revolved around Dad's route and the tales he told concerning the humor and idiosyncrasies of its people. Glenford is a unique, small, rural town in the foothills of the Appalachians in southeastern Ohio.
