Having, in the foregoing Essay, had occasion to controvert some of the principles advanced in the very learned and ingenious treatise, intitled, Considerations on the Law of Forfeiture for High Treason, I shall here attempt a candid examination of some of the proportions contained in that treatise, as the doing it in the course of the Essay itself would have led me into too large a field of digression.
