Excerpt from The Story of a Small College
This book, partly historical, partly autobiographical, is an account of the development of the ideals and policy of Haverford College.
It seems to indicate the possibility of reasonable success for a small college, which remains true to its function even in the midst of university competition.
As such it may be of interest to others who are working out the same problem, and to all Haverford men who have aided in the solution.
For much of the early history of the college it is indebted to the larger History, prepared about 1893 by a Committee of the Alumni under the Editorship of Philip C. Garrett.
