The Brogues Michael C. Daly

Mickeleen lived on a farm with his dad Eddie in the central part of Ireland. One day, while walking alongside a forest, he came upon a very small boy, who was lost and crying. He offered Mickeleen a crock of gold if he could help find the ring of trees, where the little fellow could get home. But that night Mickeleen discovers that he has been deceived by the little fellow. Instead of gold, the old crock is empty. Mickeleen with an angry heart goes back to where he met the little fellow. Unfortunately, he is captured by Leprechauns. He learns about their history, how the Leprechaun and Brogue Clans were ruled by twin brothers. Mickeleen's arrival sets off a war between the Leprechauns and the Brogues. Mickeleen escapes and returns home. He marries a childhood friend and has a son.
