The following pages are presented to the public as being the last literary labours in which the Author was engaged. It was his anxious wish to see this work again in print. He had made the necessary alterations a short time before his death, and had the satisfaction of knowing that the greater part of it was struck off. The recent treatment of Cancer had of late occupied much of his attention. For a considerable time he searched into the probable causes, and endeavoured to find the best mode of treatment, of this painful disease. Having at length heard and approved of Mr. Young"s practice, Dr. Denman was desirous of communicating that information upon the subject which might become the instrument of relief to many suffering individuals.
