Concept of Salvation in the Old Testament and Yoruba Belief System

This work is an attempt to compare the Old Testament conception of salvation with the idea of salvation in the Yoruba belief system. The aim is to identify points of contact and divergence and consequently identify the implications for developing a theology of salvation that is faithful to the biblical records and meaningful and relevant to the Yoruba context. The approaches employed in the study are both comparative and historical-grammatical. It is evident from the discoveries of the research that any theology of salvation which fails to take the worldview and needs of the people into consideration in its formulation cannot but remain meaningless, and irrelevant.
