The 21st century poses higher demands on train stations due to changes of railway transport and to the development generally. A train station now serves not only as a place to take a train, but it has become a multi-functional urban space where orientation is difficult to achieve. Colour is the most noticeable visual aspect of the space with high influence on human perception and behavior. The book presents an application of colour as a design tool to provide easier and better orientation in the space and at the same time to bring vivid unique design. Five train stations in the Netherlands were chosen as examples to demonstrate the world-wide phenomenon. Current and future plans of train stations were examined by the research. The key solutions for improvement are described in this book. It shows how an orientation can be achieved through a colour design.
