The Young Farmer

Thomas Forsyth Hunt (1862-1927) was an American author and professor. He studied Agriculture at the University of Illinois, receiving his B. A. in 1884 and his M. A. in 1892. In 1885 he worked as an assistant to the state entomologist of Illinois, then became Assistant Professor of Agriculture. He moved to Pennsylvania, and became Professor of Agriculture at Pennsylvania State College, then Professor of Agriculture and Dean of the College of Agriculture and Domestic Science at Ohio State University. He received his Ph. D. from the University of Illinois in 1903, became Professor of Agronomy at Cornell University, then Dean of the School of Agriculture and Director of the Pennsylvania Agricultural Experiment Station. He then moved to California, and became Dean of the College of Agriculture at the University of California, Berkeley, then Director of the Experiment Station, and Professor of Agriculture.
