The book is a collection of poems dealing with various themes, emotions and mental states, the overarching, unifying idea being remoteness. There are both physical and mental distances that cannot be either transgressed or trespassed. And there are unbridgeable distances that keep us away from things we desire, as well as from ourselves. There is also a sadness to distance that cannot be overcome or understated, but can always be appreciated. Distance can imply either loss or serenity depending on the situations one finds oneself in. The poems aspire to highlight these ambivalences.
