Found wandering in the forest when he was only five years old, Stefan has grown up as a loyal squire, companion and loving friend to the temperamental Prince Roland. When Roland persuades his father to let him travel on a merchant expedition, Stefan refuses to be left behind despite his disability, knowing Roland plans to escape the expedition and take off on his own.
