There I Was is the story of a derring-do aviator and the marvelous grace of God. It tells of a man being rescued from the burning fire when the Holy Spirit alters his perceptions concerning Christ. When I woke up one morning craving fried chicken, I knew I was called to preach the gospel. Breaking the sound barrier in the late 1950s was a unique experience, but it pales by comparison of knowing and being known by Christ.
